Diary of a Puneri Kid: Update 1

We are humbled and overwhelmed by the response we have got for The Diary of a Puneri Kid. 2000+ responses from 17 schools. WOW!! There were a couple of things we were up against:

  • we were doing it for the first time and even the schools were doing it for the first time.
  • our timing could have been better, if we had done this in July when there were no exams/diwali vacations.

Yet, we managed to get such a good response – thanks to the enthusiastic response from all the Principals, Librarians, Academic coordinators, parents and the children. Everyone deserves a pat on the back.

If this is the response we have got from 17 schools, we are sure of a much better response when we do this in July 2012.

While the number of responses alone should be reason enough for being happy, the quality of the entries make us feel elated. We have come across some SUPER entries.  We could have the next Christopher Paolini among these young writers. The evaluation panel is having a tough time selecting the top 20 entries in each of the three categories.

Now, there will be a reason to be ecstatic if all the good work put in by these young writers can be put together in a well-produced book. We are trying our best to put together the best team to deliver the best finished product. As of today, we are all set to launch the book on the 19th of November at Nehru Memorial Hall. Fingers crossed.
